Delivering vigour and clarity for the sfo
The Serious Fraud Office (SFO) fights the most complex financial crime, delivers justice for victims and protects the UK’s global reputation as a safe place to do business.
The SFO is a specialist, independent law enforcement agency set up by Parliament and overseen by the Attorney General. It is led by Lisa Osofsky, a US lawyer and former FBI agent.
Unlike the police, the agency investigates and prosecutes those suspected of the biggest and most challenging economic crimes.
The SFO has teams of intelligence specialists, investigators, lawyers and forensic accountants all working with a single focus – to solve the high profile, high risk cases nobody else can.
Working as a consultant to the Director and her Senior Management Team, Richard was commissioned to reinvigorate the communications function and instil a new sense of focus.
He conducted a full capability review, which resulted in him supporting the agency in the recruitment an entirely new communications leadership team with specialist skills.
He mentored the new team; refined the SFO’s strategic objectives; developed and wrote a new core narrative for external and internal communications; produced a new digital strategy and delivered positive, proactive coverage in the national media.
Richard also produced thought-leadership content for a different audiences on a variety of technical legal topics, from the merits of Deferred Prosecution Agreements to making the case for the reform of UK corporate law.
